7 days postop with bad cramping, nausea and vomiting

I was told at the one week mark I could add soft proteins to my diet. So today I took a bite of cheese and a bite of deli turkey. And later on had a half cup of milk. I have had severe burning pain and have vomited several times.

I realize I shouldn't have added the cheese and deli meat because that's what is coming up. What I want to know is when will these symptoms let up? Is it dumping syndrome or did I just try to eat the wrong things?

Remember your pouch is fresh and healing, the cheese and turkey probably is just sitting in the pouch and not doing much, I would suggest drinking fluids to get it down past the pouch. If it persists, contact your surgeon. I would not think that the cheese and turkey are considered soft foods. Puree, or have some yogurt. Or a soft cheese like Ricotta. That is my suggestion and opinion, I am hardly an expert.
