Hello everyone it is great to see some good activity on this site! I really appreciate hearing other people’s journey pre-and post-surgery!! There are some key people who post on this site who are much appreciated and sorely missed when you are absent. You never know when what you post is just what someone needs to hear!! My experience with my bariatric center has been dismal at best and the people on this site helped prepare me for surgery far more than anything they offered.
My RNY surgery is scheduled for the 17th of next month. I posted a while back that I gave up my surgery date in June for my wife and she has done quite well so far. She has had trouble getting her 64 oz of h20 but it is getting better. She has learned to slow her eating down and what foods work best for her. She has lost a little over 30 lbs in 30 days and is going to fit in her new dress for our son wedding all good news. The first week post-surgery was a bit rough but it has improved every week. She is getting more active and feeling better all the time and is grateful she had the surgery.
I want to thank those of you who encouraged me to postpone my surgery until after my Son's wedding. The original surgery date was about two weeks before the wedding and, it most likely would have made my experience less than pleasant. I was approved for surgery back in April (Covid delay) and the Dr. said as long as I didn’t gain weight all would be fine. It has helped me to eat less since my wife has had her surgery but my compulsion to eat is alive and well. And portion control is often times foreign to me!
I am so ready for my surgery while I know it will not be easy from all accounts it levels the playing field.
Best,
James
