Another non-scale victory! Kayaking the Colorado River!

I just wanted to share another non-scale victory with everyone. Although my scale victory is 93 lbs, I am way more excited with what I can do now!

This weekend, my wife and I decided we were tired of being cooped up in the house, so we decided to go on a social distancing road trip. We started out in Sedona, AZ where we rented an ATV for the day and went off roading by ourselves!

Then after that trip, we travelled to Boulder City, NV to visit some friends and family. On Monday, for the first time in my life, I went kayaking on the Colorado River! We kayaked 12 miles over 7 hours from Hoover Dam to Willow Beach. I never could have done this 6 months ago!

It was a PERFECT weekend and we loved every minute of it. I am so grateful to be healthy and active, and in a great place in my life!

I was even confident enough to take THIS PHOTO!

Congratulations! I can't believe you went in a kayak down the Colorado River. It must have been a part where there wasn't any white water. You could not pay me to get in a kayak. I rock a canoe but one of the few times I've been in a kayak it rolled over and I could not get out or roll it back up very easily. I finally did get it right but everything that I had put in the kayak was ruined, including a camera had just bought.

The Colorado could be a tough ride. That's why most of the trips down through white water are in gigantic rubber rafts with guides who can navigate the river even if it's going 40 miles an hour on a 35 degree incline.

You are very brave. And I just want to say good for you for being so good to yourself that you could do this thing. You are inspiring.

Thanks Diane! Yes, this was the quiet part of the river, no rapids! Just a gorgeous day on the water!
