I suppose this is a non-event for everyone else, but to me it's been a divine revelation. I discovered the refreshing and rejuvenating taste of Cucumber Water. I've seen it on display in a hotel lobby and at a salon and thought it was silly. I also heard that Whole Foods was trying to sell it for $6.00 a bottle.
I did a little reading up on it and it actually has some health benefits. It is high in antioxidants, is a natural diuretic, plus it is refreshing and tastes good. I thinly sliced a half cucumber with the skin on, added some lemon wedges and a few sprigs of mint. I put it in a carafe and filled it with water and let it refrigerate for 3 hours or more. When it gets low, I just refill and let it set some more. In the beginning most of it floats, making a very pretty presentation. After a couple days, I start over fresh. A nice variation to the mint is a few sprigs of rosemary. I'm back to drinking more water again!
