@dats and a wake.....

2 Days and a wake.....

Well my nerves are calming down.. I just wish Tuesday would hurry up and get here now, LOL...

Hubby and I went to the local butcher shop today.. We picked up several nice plump fresh slaughtered hens for the pot.

We made 2 gallons of fresh home made chicken broth that will be canned tomorrow for when I get home next week. I plan on taking a couple of pint jars with me to the hospital.

I know what's in it, chicken, water, salt, carrot, onion and celery, and whats not in it, sugar, msg and preservatives. My husband strained it very well to get all of the solids out of it, :). Right now it is sitting in

the fridge getting nice and cold so we can remove the hardened layer of fat from the top tomorrow before I get it in jars and into the pressure canner.

It seems so many broths have sugar as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd ingredient, MSG and a slew of preservatives in them.

We picked up several boxes of sugar free jello and puddings.

So, Monday I get to take the magnesium phosphate to clean out my system, YAY>> Not, that stuff is just plain nasty.
