Do I bring it up at first check in?

Hi everyone! I had my surgery this past Tuesday the 6th and it was a wild few days to me. My hospital usually has private rooms for bariatric patients but I had a roommate due to our hospital being very full. She was a loud disrespectful whiner and demander. Her husband visiting was no better either. Thankfully my nurse moved me into a private room as soon as one opened up. The bad part was, my nurse failed to check why my IV line in my hand was super painful. Every time she gave me pain killers it felt like my hand was on fire. It wasn't until my night nurse who saw how puffy my hand was, said we had to change it right away. Seriously getting an injection into what felt like a busted vein was the worst pain I ever experienced.
I have my first check in on Tuesday and my hand is still obviously swollen and tender. Should I bring it up or is that basically just me complaining about something that doesn't have anything to do with my belly healing? Am I thinking about this too much?

Oops I realized I put this question in the wrong thread. Sorry!

Definitely bring it up. I had an IV definitely bring it up. I had an IV inserted for a surgery and the technician infiltrated the vein or artery. The pain was excruciating. You really do need to talk to somebody and maybe sooner than later.
