 I am SOOOOOOO happy to find this group!! My surgery date is 11/13/12 and I am having the Gastric Sleeve. I have alot of confidence in my surgeon but still terrified! i have a great support system behind me, got a plan in place--but wow, its beginning to hit me what a CHANGE this is going to be!! I am thrilled that I am going to get my life and health back--and I plan on living it to the fullest!! I know that i will benefit from all of you and as time goes, maybe I can actually help someone!! My name is Mary Beth but I will be MB12 on here!

Welcome Mary Beth, I had the RNY last month. You are right, it is a life changing event and I don't mean just the weight loss. Everything will change, but the results are worth it. I'm down 20 pounds from when I went into surgery and down 50 from Sep 25th. Being scared is all part of the process, anyone who isn't a bit scared is either crazy or lying to themselves. Good luck and keep us up to date.

It's scary to think we are rearranging our internal mechanics that we were born with that were absolutely healthy and perfect. Once the procedure is done, and you're well on your way to losing the monumental amount of weight we usually have to lose, our mind, body, and spirit begin to change. Each day our clothing gets looser, our joy begins to return, the people who love us most are cheering us onward and upward! There's no going back! Moving forward each day, taking baby steps, remembering that Rome was not built in a day...LOL we see the results, we feel better with each healthy food choice and intake, and the future is looking much brighter. Your energy level will soar, your skin will become clearer, your body will begin to transform into the person you were born to be! It's all positive if you look at this experience with that perspective. Keep yourself informed by reading articles, seeking advice from your surgeon, and their team, and calling upon others, who have been on this journey and achieved success! Stay strong, believe you will be able to conquer any obstacle that may arise, and enjoy the ride!
