Final preparations

I had my COVID test this morning, so I’m quarantined until surgery Monday. My birthday is tomorrow, and since I’m lucky enough to have no liquid diet, I’m having a few of my favorite eats through the day. Sunday I’m going to take it easy on the foods. I’ve already sent in my absentee ballot. I’m getting my bag ready for the hospital with all the essentials: extra clothes, phone charger, headphones, lotion, chapstick, hygiene things, and extra masks. My protein powder came in today, and as I expected it’s too sweet, so I’m adding a half serving of the unflavored PP to temper that down. It’s 36.5 g of protein at once that way, so that’s not too bad! I also have my protein water and bone broth stocked up. Only thing I’m having trouble with is the vitamins and calcium. I take them close to when I go to bed otherwise I have horrible cramping. I tried taking them when I eat dinner, but it doesn’t help. I won’t restart them until a month after surgery, so only a few more days of them for now. House is clean, laundry is getting done, and my husband is ready to take things over when I’m in the hospital and for my first week of recovery. Unfortunately he’ll be traveling for work again the week after my surgery, so my plans of not cooking for the kids have changed, but that’s ok, I’m flexible. I’ve been doing a lot of meditation and visualization to help me sleep and calm me down when I start to feel mounting anxiety. How is it that I can be so ready and not at the same time? LOL Just the nerves ratting me!

You are going to do just fine. In a few days, you'll be writing us that your surgery is over and you're doing fine. You'll be on the other side and ready for your new life changing journey. Good luck to you, you have worked very hard to get to this point. You can be proud!!

Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was awesome. You are going to do great with your surgery. You have already put in a lot of work to get yourself prepared and give yourself those healthy habits that you're going to need after the surgery. Try for some R&R tonight.
