I havent been on here inseveral months, Ive been on a holding pattern. My Dr went on maturity leave in Nov. and didnt come back till late Jan. so I have just now gotten my appt for surgery its now set for March 14th have my Pre-op appt the 22nd and start my pre-op diet the 28th. Why am I more scared of the liquid diet than I am of the surgery. I dont know how I will make it thru those two weeks. Any advise on how to do it. I dont know how I will cook for my family and sit and watch them eat and not have anything. I know it will be a lot easier after the surgery since thats what everyone tells me. So looking for much needed advice on how to do the two weeks before.

That is my fear too... cooking for my family and Not eating. I think once you have the surgery you will just (especially at first) have the mind set that you Have to do what is right for you and your body. I think it will come naturally. We all know that we still have to take care of our family, That won't change! I just hope your family is supportive, I know my fiance will help out alot. He is extremely supportive of my decisions. I am scared and anxious as well. Good luck and keep posting about your progress! :)

DonnaYork hi and welcome back, you asked how you were gonna get through the liquid diet part, I know I too had that fear, My sister made me some awesome homemade broth, she used bones and spices(she is studying to be a chef) I can ask her what receipe she used. she made me up broth ahead of time and froze it in small containers so when hunger came, I would sip on the warm broth and it helped. It had such a good aroma too it and taste. got tired of sugar free jello and sugar free popsciles, I also sipped on hot tea. I think hot foods seem to satisfy me more than cold. after SURGERY your taste buds change at first, things you used to like just don't taste as great as they used to, plus you don't get as hungry as you used to, til months later. I am only 4 months out but now food is beginning to taste good again. I love this room I have been helped so much by others in here. may I suggest a site that I was told about that really has a lot of advice, the lady there had the bariatric surgery years ago and she went from a size 28 to a size 4 (I think I was born wearing that size) anyway her site is called TheWorldAccordingToEggface.org or .com she has endless receipes and advice I go to her site often to get new ideas and it's a free site. Hope you have a good day, you're gonna be a healthier and happier you as you go through this journey, but it's worth it all once you see the poundsl leaving and your confidence arises . hope you are having a good day. hi Johncrystal5 welcome we all go through the concern of how we are gonna make it through the liquid diet, I told DonnaY. that my sis made me some awesome broth ahead of time and that is what helped me to get through those days.it was warm and had a great aroma and taste. my sis is studying to be a chef) I can ask her for the reciepe if you like, for she used bones, spices and then we froze it into small containers so I could have it when I was hungry, and didn't have to worry about eating something I wasn't allowed to have. once you get through this stage and have your surgery things start to fall into place, your taste buds change and as you see the pounds melting away you tell yourself it's worth it, I will admit I had some days when I asked myself"why did you do this" but as my body started healing I am now so glad I went through it all, had mine done 4 months ago, had to go through 9 months of waiting , and testing and then the surgeon having a date avaible but now so glad I had it done. I also want to tell you too about a site that has really helped me a lot, this lady had the surgery done too, years ago and she went from a size 28 to a 4, her site is called< Theworldaccordingtoeggface.org or .com anyway she has endless receipes and ideas and they are great and its FREE to go there.I love the Davinci sugar free syrups she mention's and uses a lot I found them at walmart for under 3.00 and they are great in protein drinks and in coffee and she uses them in her receipes, can also find them on amazon there are about 15 flavors I think. I have had white chocolate(good) raspberry, French vanilla, and hazelnut. Ilove them all. Hope your day is going well for you. Donna (BIGTALLSIS)

Im very lucky support wise. My husband has offered to do the diet with me, I told him that was to much couldnt expect that. She said he will do all the cooking which I agreed to. My kids are great once I stopped drinking soda they did too, cause they wanted to help me. I think I am going to have warm chicken broth of the evening at dinner time that way it will at least seem kind of like a meal. Been doing alot of thinking over the last 24 hours I have wanted this so bad for such a long time that I am not going to let anything stand in my way. So if I get on here and complain about the liquid diet just remind me of how bad I want this. Thank you all for your advise. Donna
