I had gastric sleeve converted to gastric bypass because of severe GERD on 1/14/2025. The hernia was a result of the gastric sleeve. My stomach was lodged in my sternum.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Also, I wasn’t prepared for the pain. I’m miserable.

Did you have the sleeve just before the GERD? I've never heard of the stomach being "lodged in the sternum." Going by the anatomy of the body as I understand it, this doesn't seem logical. Honestly, it sounds like a malpractice suit against the doctor who performed your surgery. It certainly isn't a common side effect, or even a rare side effect.
As to the pain, that's a harder comparison to make, since everyone has a different threshold of pain tolerance. But if the surgery was botched, which it sounds like it was, I believe you, again, need to look at a problem caused by the surgeon. I've never read a post here, and I've been here since 2007, where someone detailed this problem.
I'd be getting a second opinion from a bariatric doctor, and consulting with a malpractice attorney who's familiar with bariatric procedures. You need professional advice.
