Had my surgery Oct 7

Hello world I am back. My by pass went well. However 2 days later I began bleeding through my draining tubes, it was filling up pretty soon after I had it emptied. Had a rough night and finally on the third night a nurse came in to empty it.I told help it was just emptied. Lots of action then. I was going back into surgery.
My family was contacted and about and hour later I was in the ER again. My bowel were laceratred and it had to be fixed. Its made recovery a tad bit longer, and it was a little longer hospital stay. However, I am home now doing pretty good. Its a chance we take having surgery sometimes. But I am going to be fine mentally its a little harder then actual pain. I am on my soft foods and no problems. Its to be expected with what I went through. I still would have done it. I lost 38 pounds at my first visit amd the depression is getting better. So I do what I can and try to encrease each day. So iyt happens sometimes but, like I said don't let it stop you.:D

You seem to have a good outlook, after all that. Please keep us informed on how you are doing. Hugs..... carla

Hi DPAngel, sounds like a rough time, I am so happy everything turned out fine, you are right about surgery, things do happen and that is why we are all scare dwhen we go in for this but the benifit is much higher than the risk for us. Your doing fantastic on your weight loss:D The depression will go away, I do remember the emotional rollercoaster and after surgery I was so depressed for a couple of weeks and had a lot of remorse adn self doubt, think what the heck did I do, but I think we all go through that, hang in there and keep up the good work. Tom

Well y'all I went to the doctor who had gives me anti depressants a few years ago. And since thet were time released one of the nurses in the hospital said I could not take them. I can open the capsules and they work. So that is a blessing. A few other meds I was told that were ER can be taken. The pain mainly is from the bowel part the second surgery but that too is getting better. I was a bit of a mess when I went in there to see him. Crying & telling him of the Trauma I had endured. He was great he stayed untill I got there, he was due to leave at 4:00 and thats when I arrived. So, make sure you know what you can and can't take. Soon I will be on a treadmill (lol) walking. I live in Ohio and do my walking outside nomally, but I decided to buy myself one. Wish me luck. Hugs to all

DAngel-WOW, what a ride you have taken. So glad to hear you are doing better now. I'm a bit behind and trying to catch up with all the posts so I missed replying to your post on 11/11 until now. You sound like a fighter and that means you can handle things so it's no surprise that you are taking everyhthing in stride and doing so well in your recovery. Keep up the good work!!!
