Hair loss.....

I think it varies person to person. I noticed hair coming out starting 4 months post-op. It came out mostly when I showered and it began to slow around 8 months post op. It thinned the most at the two side peaks of my forehead. I cut my hair short before surgery because I didn’t want to deal with long hair clogging things. Now, thanks to Covid, getting a cleanup cut feels like an unnecessary risk, so I wear soft athletic headbands to keep my hair (and any sweat) out of my eyes when I exercise outdoors. It also covers up the emptier spots while they grow back in.

I have just started losing some hair, at 3 month post op. I am less than happy, even though I knew it was coming. I also don't have a lot to spare, since I have very thin hair anyway. But, I'm using anti-thinning shampoo (no help or maybe it is but not enough?) and using a fiber gel to make my hair look thicker. I had an aunt who lost her hair on the top of her head, so I am really REALLY hoping it grows back and I'm not genetically predisposed to female pattern baldness?!?! I've already decided if it gets too bad, I'm going to wear scarves. I'm already practicing how to wrap them properly. It will be a style! lol
