Healthier Super Bowl Party Food

I was gathering some recipes on Pinterest today and came up with a few that I will share that sounded interesting to me. Note: I haven't tried these recipes so can't vouch for them but worth a try I think.

Besides the recipes that I've linked below, here are a few suggestions that are healthier choices. They are not necessarily low calorie but healthier and you can always use lighter versions of mayo, cream cheese, baked crackers/chips etc :
  • Deviled eggs
  • Ham roll ups (Spread light cream cheese on rectangular slices of ham, top with your favorite seasonings and roll up. Chill till firm then slice into pinwheels.)
  • Caprese Skewers (Marinated Mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and a basil leaf on a skewer or toothpick. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar.)
  • Layered crab spread. (Soften a block of light cream cheese and spread it into a flat circle. Pour seafood sauce enough to cover the circle. Top with crabmeat. It will kind of look like an uncooked pizza! Spread on a cracker or celery or whatever.

Love to hear if anyone has any other ideas!

I’m in St.Louis so the Bengals can crush the Rams. My heart hurts that the Chiefs aren’t in it this year, but they did some stupid things in the playoffs, so I can’t be too mad.
Yeah, I love KC's qb Patrick Mahones, and I think Andy Reid is hands down one of the best coaches. If they'd made it, I'd have rooted for KC. But it's about time that Cincy has a shot at it. Love me some Bengals ❤❤❤❤

I hear ya 3mom, I was routing for the Chiefs too. But since I don't really care for the Rams or Bengals, I'll go with the underdog who hasn't won a Super Bowl yet. Most of all I hope it is a good game.

The area where I live has really embraced the career of Cincy's qb, Joe Burrowe (sp?). He is from Athens OH & for his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, he mentioned the plight of children in his hometown that come home from school to no food in the house. Immediately after that, donations flooded in and boosted the area Foodbank & food pantries. Wow, what a guy! Now as an NFL qb, he is continuing his quest to make sure Appalachian Ohio children & families aren't going hungry. So that gives us in the region another reason to cheer on the Bengals. ❤ ❤
