Hello everyone,I'm new to this site,I found on facebook. After four years of appeals,letters,phone calls,disappointments,emotional ups and downs,I finally got a grant for my surgery. I applied through the wlsfa(weightloss surgery foundation association).This association is where doctors,hospitals,anesthesiologists donate money to those that cant afford the surgery,excess skin,testing,etc.Its great!Right now I'm just waiting for the funding which wont be available until the end of May.I have been reading the book Weightloss surgery for Dummies.Great book.I hope all is well with everyone.I look forward to be on the losers bench soon!

Hi Sleeveme1, Welcome. It sounds like you have gone throiugh a lot to get this far so you must have done your homework. You are about to embark on a wonderful journey to a healthier you. I was fortunate enough to have insurance cover most of my proceedure but had they not I would have started looking for alternative methods for payment, so it is good to hear there are organizations out there to help people who strive to be healthy but just can't do it on there own and can't afford the 50,000 dollars out of pocket expenses. Please come back and let us know how you are doing. This is also a great place for support and to get answers for concerns and questions, it can tend to be an emotional roller coaster all of us have gone through so make sure to came back and visit. Hang in there.
