Hi- I'm new to the site and 3 week post op

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site, and have actually never joined a forum before so I am new to all of this. I had my surgery (gastric bypass) on June 21st. I am pleased with how much weight I have lost so far but am struggling on getting in enough protein. I am in the soft/ pureed food stage and would love to hear of what foods others ate. I did get the tip of deviled eggs the other day which was a nice change. I am trying to stick to just the protein foods to help get in my 62. Any tips on food ideas would be great. I am over pudding, yogurt! I thought about making the tuna or chicken salad but it seems a little odd eating those without a cracker or bread.

Thanks everyone!

The chicken/tuna salad worked for me. I just mixed it all up in a bowl and ate with a fork. The first few times you feel like your missing something now it's just the way I like it. I'm also a big soup maker fan. Retried beans or any other smooshed bean. If you like fish tear it up real fine get some well mashed beans in a bowl top with fish and condiments of your choosing. Instant mashed potatoes are great too. I add spinach to mine while the water is boiling to get them real soft the you could add your favorite protein powder right into. Hopes that helps

Kathryn don't get too worried about getting all your protein in. It's usually takes some time, but it sounds like you're doing real well. I ate lots of refried beans, yogurt and sf pudding during that stage, couldn't get used to tuna salad or chicken salad. Just keep getting in your liquids and the farther out you get from surgery the easier it will get. Keep us up to date with your progress.

Frank
