I had surgery

I had my surgery Monday March 30. I weighed in at 300 lbs. Has anyone had problems with their anxiety levels growing dramatically or been extremely depressed after surgery?

WELCOME to the Forum!!!

My surgery had the opposite effect. I was really on cloud nine and still am to this day. Everything's great, life is awesome, never been better, I'm so darn happy it's amazing.. etc. It's probably hormones that are affecting both of us, but on opposite ends of the spectrum. Talk to your bariatric surgeon about this. He may know what to do to help you.

Yes talk to your surgeon.

I was also very happy.

You probably notice that you gained weight post op.

They fill you up with fluids since the first couple of weeks or more it is very difficult getting all the liquids you are supposed to drink into you.

So, don't fret.

There is so much for you to be feeling good about yourself.

Talk to your Doctor and the bariatric psychologist about any depression issues that you may be having.

Best wishes,

Ralph

Depression and mood swings are common after surgery. If you can't control them on your own then please contact your doctor. Congratulations on taking the first step to a new healthier you.
