Shame on you administrators for covering up on what myself and 6 of my friends have gone through since going through gastric bypass surgery (Y). We all have the same problems with our valves (mitral and aorta), these are valves that help the heart function. Lets not forget the famous Star Jones, she also has the same problems, so if your seriously thinking about going through this surgery, I can give you many problems that have arose since getting this surgery done 12 years ago. I would NEVER go through it again is all that I can say, and my friends all say the same thing....do research on this before going through this surgery, but I know that this post will not be approved either, this support group is a joke!!!

No moderators did anything to your first post. When a new member makes their first post it automatically goes through a filter as one way to prevent spammers on the forums. The filter checks for certain links or keywords. If your post had one of those keywords or links in it then it would get sent to a moderator for approval. So, your post must have had one of those keywords in it. When I logged in just now I went through those Posts that were awaiting approval and I approved your first post.
There is no cover-up on this surgery. Spend some time reading on these forums and you'll realize that you're not the only person that has had problems with the surgery. Complications seem to be fairly common.

As with any surgery there are risks as anyone here will tell you. Our journeys are all unique, so what one person goes through, others may not. Me, I've had no issues at all with the surgery or the time since. I would do it again in a heartbeat. You seem very angry, is it because you were not warned of the risks?
As for this support group being a joke, well, all I can say is if you don't like it, don't come here. I have found plenty of good advice here and some that I disregard. No is forcing you to post here. I wish you all the success possible in your WLS journey.

Wow...12 years later and you finally decide to join the forum! Why didn't you join sooner and spread the word? With every surgery there are complications but I would think in the past 12 years the medical field has improved upon their methods regarding bariatric surgery. The risks were spelled out to me on several occasions. I had my surgery one week ago and I am still in pain but as time passes I hope I can look back and say that I have no regrets. You are obviously upset over something but I would think there would be a more positive manner to express your concerns because I am sure some would benefit from your experience. In all honesty she was blocked by a technical issue and was upset about that, not knowing that it was a technical issue. So think we should give her some slack on that account. Her original post was posted under special condition new to the site. In that post she was much more clear in asking for our help. I hope you understand the situation better.
