Hi everyone, I'm new to the chat room. I decided to have the gastric sleeve about 5 month ago and have already done most of the requirements for it. I'm scheduled for surgery on the 21 and looking forward to the new life style coming with it. I'm very confident about the surgery and the outcome. The only thing that I'm nervous about is that the BCBS insurance will end up at the end denying it. I'm already scheduled but just received a letter from them requesting more information. Those anyone have BCBS and what was the experience with them approving the procedure? Also, I'm already doing the 2 weeks of just liquids and protein drinks and even though I'm not experiencing mood changes, I'm having bad headaches. Has anyone gone through this? Anything I could do to minimize them? I'm so exited to finally be able to loose all this extra pounds from by aching body. Already had knee surgery and is not getting any better due to the weight.

Your surgeon and his staff should be doing what is necessary with BCBS to get your approval for you!

I don't understand why you got a letter. They are the ones that have the experience in dealing with the insurance companies and they KNOW what to do.

Go back to your surgeon and staff and get them to take care of ANY insurance hurdle.

If they cannot FIND ANOTHER SURGEON!

Best wishes,

Ralph
