Hi my name is Kari & this has been a two year long journey to get to this point. As it was initially denied. They have become more stricter on the counseling. I will be more nervous the night and morning of the surgery. Looking forward to the next phase. I have read so much on this. I hope everything goes well with no complications. Thankful for all the tips out there. I am ready to move on from any soy chip products yuck:p

Congratulations on your approval and surgery date!!! You will do fine.

My husband and I lived in Wisconsin in 2001-just up there for a year. But, we did like it-except for the colder winters.

Thanks, Yeah the winter bites here! I see you lost about 50# so far congrats! I have to go buy a scale yet.

Hi kari740 i am happy for you that your wait is almost over, you're gonna do great, this site has offered me alot of help with ? Receipes and meeting wonderful people whom understand what we're dealing with. Will pray for you to have a speedy recovery. Had mine done in sept 2012 and i am glad i did, it changes your life for the positive and you'll be happy you went through with it.(i still don't like soy products) but whey products seem to have a better taste. Make sure to come back and share your journey.

After being a human pin cushion in the hospital. (& That's no joke my arms are bruised & sore!)I have been home 24 great hours. It felt great to get a shower today. Things are going good just have to get all my liquids in. It's a challenge as I don't have an appetite but I know that it's something I need to do. Looking forward to stage 2 of full liquids on Saturday. My new scale arrived yesterday so I have it ready to go. My stomach is tender but really no pain. Can feel the pressure when I'm full on my tummy. Definitely don't want to over do it. I was prescribed pain meds but not sure I need them. My spring semester has opened up so I have that to contend with so I will be busy with that and my new way of life.

Congratulations on your surgery and surviving as a human pin cushion! :)
Make sure you sip, sip, sip-get those fluids in. Powerade zero will help with electrolytes and help with the hydration. If you can have skim milk on your team's plan right now it will help get the protein in. Mainly right now when you first get home it is keeping hydrated that is the most important.
Sugar Free popsicles are great to crunch on and are on the plan-they are fluids.
sip, sip, sip, rest, rest, rest, walk a bit, walk, walk.
