Just needed a taste :(

So my son made frozen pizza and I just needed to taste something other than liquid and protein shake. I took a small bite and chewed it and spit it in the garbage. My oh my it was heavenly and I just needed to. 21 days without a bite of food has been so hard.
I know it will not make me fall into my old ways bc I am so strict on myself but I do feel bad but am not gonna dwell on it.
I'll be ok right? Lol

You will be just fine. And you shouldn't dwell on it. Of course, we have to make good choices as we move forward. We all know what let us to the point of having surgery, but we are human and fallible. We're overcoming years of habits and routines. It's hard to shut that off. I've seen people who admitted going to McDonald's the day after their surgery and in the end, never lost a pound. These first couple months will probably be the most difficult with regard to food. I know I'm dying for something other than a liquid. It's a short term thing though, and that is what you have to remind yourself. While it might seem like it is going slowly, this time with liquids and purees is but a teeny tiny part of your life. You can do it and then expand to more options in smaller amounts soon. :)

Sometimes you can contact your surgeon and ask for a special dispensation to add smoothly pureed semi-liquid foods to your diet. These can be made from regular food. The intervals before and after surgery or arbitrary. You may have a whole different need and you may have a faster healing process than others. So ask your doctor if you want to have a slice of pizza. He or she might say yes. But if so, you're going to have to smoosh it up before you eat it.
