Maybe a unique situation?

I had emergency abdominal surgery Sept 20 and had approximately 40% of my stomach removed. (I had sepsis and spent 10 days in the hospital.) Surgeon said he did a gastric sleeve surgery as a result. I am now 13 weeks out and really struggling with eating. A lot of food isn’t appealing and does not taste good. I get nauseous very easily if I don’t eat frequently.

I am losing weight (perhaps too quickly) and have become very frustrated due to the limited foods I can handle. Does anyone have suggestions?

OMG, you have been through the wringer! I hope you're feeling close to normal by now.

My first suggestion is to eat a full complement of vitamins and minerals every day. My doctor told me, before surgery, that I would have to take 2 high potency chewable or liquid multivitamins every day for the rest of my life That really got me thinking because I was already paranoid, believing it was impossible to get enough nutrients in a day of normal eating. So I went to the FDA site online and also read the backs of vitamin labels and how closely each vitamin matched the RDA.

In the beginning, I noticed the expensive chewable vitamin I took was, in fact, identical to Flinstones. READ LABELS!

It's also tricky because you can't take them all at once. I take my vitamins and minerals 4 times a day. I measure out my dosages into little containers with plastic lids so it's all done in advance, and I don't have to unscrew the bottle and screw it back on over and over. I actually have photos on my profile page if you'd like to look.

I wrote my supplements down and keep the card in my basket where I store all my pills. Here's what I take:
2 Trader Joes Women's multi chewable daily vitamins, all at once
1 Rite Aid High Potency Iron
2 PB8 capsules (builds resistance to flu and cold)
1 Vitamin D
1 Joint Support tablet
1 B12
3 Vit C
3 500mg Calcium Citrate (not Calcium Carbonate)
1 vitamin D
Study vitamins and minerals to know which to take together. Sometimes a vitamin will cancel out a mineral, and vice versa

As much as I hate to plug Amazon, this is where I buy most of my supplements, and the rest from Trader Joes

And do go to the FDA site, which breaks down the nutritional values of food. It's especially enlightening about protein.
