New and excited

Hi everyone. I'm 1 month away from meeting with the surgeon on 6/14 and tentatively scheduled for surgery some time in July. Nervous and excited all at the same time, just wish the time would fly already. Insurance required me to do 6 months of dietary appointments, so it has felt like the longest 5 months but my dietician has been wonderful and very helpful. Not sure if we're doing the sleeve or RNY but I'm ready either way. Of all the concerns I have running through my head about the surgery the only thing I'm not worried about is that I'm making the wrong decision. :) Still not sure my family understands my choice but that's ok because as long as I know I'm doing this for my health, they'll come around.

Glad to know there are so many forums on line to read though and see what others have to say. I'm always open to anyone's thoughts and advise, so thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to get information. You sound like you have a positive attitude, that is half the battle

Ditto what Karenina said. I would add that you're going to have questions going, so don't be afraid to ask, even if you think they're silly or stupid questions. We all understand and will give you an answer. Also, just know that when you're in the hospital for surgery, you will gain weight, 10 to 15 pounds. It's from the fluids they pump into you. Don't worry it goes away quickly. Check back in and let us know how it's going.
