Hello to everyone. I am new to this forum, I found it while doing my research and found it to be a very good site full of ideas, information and support. I think it is wonderful to have a place one can go to when in need of help, support and ideas. I have been struggling with my weight pretty much since I hit puberty, it has been a constant battle. I have had many ups and downs in my life, as I am sure we all have, that have helped "add" on the pounds. I have started my process, doing the 6month monthly weigh in for insurance, PCP approved the surgery and my consult with the surgeon is March 8th. A pleasure to be here and looking forward to the journey to the NEW ME !!! :)

I do not how how I forgot to mention this .... BUT .... I have very good support system in my family and friends, but look forward to the strength and advise I can gain from everyone here. Also it would be so wonderful to make friends and talk with people that have been or are going through the things I am dealing/will be dealing with...... :)

Welcome! The support here is tremendous. I also have a great support system, but none of them even have a weight problem, let alone bariatric surgery. This is why it's nice to come here. Everyone shares our same issue.

hello and welcome.....I just started getting on here too, my surgery is in Feb....I havent set the date....I can do it as early as the first week in Feb, but I am having such issues with taking the plunge.....I SOOOO want this, but not sure everyone around me wants me to do it....THAT IS WHY I LOVE IT HERE! I hope to be friends!!!

Angee ...... Thank you so much for the welcome :) ..... Please keep me posted on your progress and I am here if you need anyone to talk to .... Looking forward to sharing our journey ... Kristin

Angee,

No matter what anyone else thinks about you having surgery please remember that only you can make the decision to get healthy. I experienced some family members who seemed opposed at first but once my mind was made up they changed their tune and now it's like so glad you decided to go ahead and we are so proud of you. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I went for years trying and trying to lose weight and being a total health wreck. So glad I made the decision I did. Good luck on your decision whatever that may be. Just remember you know what you have been through and how hard it is to live carrying around all the extra weight. Joy

Hi Kristen, Welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of great people here and we'll talk about anything, and I mean anything here without judgement. Being able to talk to people who've been there, done that is a great help, especially when you're feeling depressed or on a plateau.

Angie, those around you who do not support you, lose them as friends. To me a friend will support your decision to move to a healthier life style. If they are family, just let them know that your surgery is no longer a topic of discussion.

Good luck with your journeys, ladies. Keep us informed.
