I'm new to this site and have a question? How much weight are we supposed to lose in the first 6 months? Just checking to see if I'm doing things right with my eating.

thanks for any help.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I wanted to say Hi and Welcome anyway. :)
I've wondered the same thing, but no one seems to have an answer for me. My medical team says they don't really look at weight loss, but percentage of weight lost and that everyone is different.

LauraLeigh is right, the amount you lose will depend on your individual circumstances. Everyone is different. Men tend to lose faster than women. Just follow your surgeon's guidlines, listen to your nutritionist.. and you will drop your weight.

Oh.. and WELCOME to the forum!!!! :)

Yes, welcome.

You will lose plenty in the first six months.

I think as a general guideline you can expect to lose about 1/2 your weight. This is a question that is asked at the seminars. Again, everyone is different. So how quickly you lose will vary by individual.

I expect to lose about a 100 pounds; well maybe somewhere between 80-100 pounds. I have already lost 60 pounds in the first three months. YES MEN LOSE MORE QUICKLY THAN WOMAN. However, I also have listened to many success stories, including Frank and Linney on this forum where a couple of years out they have lost over 100 pounds. The real story here is you have started a new journey in your life. The weight will come off as long as you are true to the program and true to yourself.

I just wanted to say welcome to the board. I think that your question has been answered as best as possible by the others. One word of advice try not to compare your journey to others as that will only cause stress and slow you down. Look for positive things that you have down and always follow you medical teams advice.

Welcome to the forum. Continue to come back often and ask lots of questions they will be answered.
