Hi Lisa, Welcome. This is a great place for support, there are pleanty of folks here to share their experience with you. Write down questions that you think of to ask during you appointments becaus eif you are anything like me you will forget once you are sitting there with the doc or nutritionist. Keep all the informational handouts they give you and read through them thuroughly they may bring up more questions, and do what they tell you to do. Good luck and let us know how things are going. Tom

Hi lisa, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you have such a long list of medical problems. I have heard of many who overcome many health problems because of their weight loss. I hope it all works out for you!

Hi Lisa. Welcome to the forum. Your are right this is a life long journey. but you have already taken the first step by making the decison to have WLS. I also had the sleeve and in the beginning it is all about getting your protein, water and vitamins in. By working with the nutritionist you will go from one stage to another in terms of what and how much you can eat. If you can get to a face to face support group, as well as this one even better. Keep us updated on your progress and ask a lot of questions about everything. There are so many people here who have been so helpful and kind to me. Wishing you good health.

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the group. You are definitely not alone. All the suggestions above are right on, the only thing I can add is to research the procedure online. Learn as much as you can, it will help control the fear that you will experience pre and post surgery. I know I was nervous going in, but I have a 3 grandsons that I want to be around for a long time. I just had surgery, so I'm going through the protein and water phase, it's hard, but worth it. Surprising I feel better than I have in a long while, energy wise. I still have some pain and discomfort, but nothing too serious. Lastly, be sure you have confidence in your surgeon, if not, find another one.

Good Luck to you and don't be a stranger here.

Lisa-Welcome to the forum. Have you been to a weight loss seminar yet? They will give an overview of all of the surgeries available so you can decide which ones interest you. From there you can make an appointment to have a consult with the surgeon. Like Tom said, write down all of your questions to take with you. Another thing you can do is attend a couple of the post-op support group meetings. You will learn a lot from the people there. Again, take a list of questions with you.

You will find this forum friendly, informative and non-judgemental so make sure you come back and visit us.
