Question...hanging skin?

I'm seriously considering wls. One of my concerns is the issue of hanging skin from losing too quickly. People who are post op, has this been a problem? If so, how did you deal with it?
 
Shilah-Someone else asked the same question earlier today. They were told by their surgeon that it is a genetic condition and has nothing to do with how much or how fast you lose weight or how much you exercise. This is what I posted:
There are a few people in this forum who have had or are considering some sort of surgery to remove excess skin, mostly tummy tucks and underarm skin. I was watching an episode of The Biggest Loser a while back and saw an interview of 2 ladies who completed the program together. Both lost in excess of 100 pounds but only one needed to have excess skin removed. The one that didn't need skin removed was nicknamed "the human rubber band" *LOL* I didn't realize until then that some people do not end up with excess skin. I have a lot more weight to lose but so far the only areas with excess skin are my underarms. Unless I have issues with infection or irritation I highly doubt I will have any surgery. I plan on just wearing clothes that camoflage everything *LOL* I am such a coward when it comes to pain that I feel it just isn't worth it plus I'm 58 years old and don't see the point. For someone who is younger or who likes to be fashionable I think the skin removal surgery is the way to go. It's just one more choice to make.

I went to a support group meeting where someone asked that question. The answer was that not everyone has the hanging skin and they indicated that it was most likely genetic. Secondly they recommended that you wait about two years after your weight loss to have plastic surgery because some of the natural elasticity might return and make the surgery easier. I have also heard some people have been told to stop losing weight because they estimated the amount of weight you would lose if they did plastic surgery. I think age and physical condition has a lot to do with it because your skin ages just like you do. It is amazing what you can learn in a support group, things I never thought about before.
 
I have along the front part of my body what I'll call "the flapper" from bearing children. It's a combination of loose skin with fat mixed into it. Is that likely to reduce in size after I've lost my weight? Also, will working out help to reduce it?
