I had a few of those concerns before surgery. My biggest hang-up was Diet Coke, and after surgery, I haven't missed it, at all. Actually, I don't think I've been concerned about the food I can't eat, but rather, how MUCH I can eat. I enjoyed eating a few slices of pizza, but now I have to learn to eat less and savor more. I don't recall if you are are a sleeve or bypass patient, but as a sleeve patient, I know there really isn't anything that I can't eat if I don't want to. Some things may not sit well (like 2 oz of cheddar cheese, which I found out the hard way) or things with a lot of sugar.
When it comes down to it, for me, as I mentioned above, I think I miss the amount of food I was eating, not necessarily that I can't have a particular food or not. I think that is just going to take time as part of the process of building new habits, which is why taking advantage of this honeymoon period is so important.
