Surgery Date October 14th

Good Luck!!! I had surgery (gastric sleeve) 5-4-15. I had no complications, but I followed their instructions to the letter. From what I have learned the sleeve is easier because you are able to eat normal eventually. The bypass seems to be harder to deal with all the time. I think the bypass may help people lose more, but I am happy I had the gastric sleeve surgery. I have now hit a plateau, and I can't seem to lose anymore right now. Again good luck.

Congratulations Stacey on getting your surgery scheduled! If you scan through the other Upcoming Surgeries threads, you will see that it is completely normal to feel excited and nervous before your surgery. Just remember that everything will be fine! We will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery :)

Edwin, thank you so much for your insight into the sleeve surgery. It is very much appreciated! As for the plateau, it is completely normal to hit a plateau at some point post-operatively. If you continue to follow your doctor's recommendations, I'm sure the weight will eventually fall off! Good luck to you and please keep us all updated on your progress!! Thanks Edwin! :D

Congrats Stacey. You are 4 days ahead of me. I'm on the protein only shakes right now. Ick! Are you having to do it? What kind of surgery are you having? I'm having bypass.

I'm on Bariatric Advantage. Banana isn't bad, but their chocolate was gross. Went with Iced Latte. Bad decision. Oh well, only 11 more days of this. :( What brand are you drinking? I have ordered my post op shakes through American whey. All of their reviews on their chocolate were very positive.

I got it from my doc. That's what they require for this stage. I'm not sure who makes Bariatric Advantage. That is all that is on the packages.
