Surgery postponed again!

I really appreciate all the feedback on my last post. I have been caught up in prepping the family farm for sale. This process has been difficult but it was time. Resentments and bitterness have been creeping up and, as Diane mentioned resentments only hurt me!

Covid spiked in our area about 1 month ago and once again the hospitals are close to max capacity and my wife’s surgery (RYN) which was supposed to be today is postponed again ( instead of 6 months close to 9 now) and I’m sure mine will be as well. I realize there is some resistance to the vaccine but please don’t be like my neighbor who has politized this issue. He is the picture of health and told me he wasn’t going to get the vaccine! Well guess what he was in the hospital all last week, touch and go, max oxygen for 4 days. His wife told me Sunday the family is now going to get the vaccine ASAP.

My anxiety level regarding surgery is still low thanks to all the wonderful post on this site. I know there are no guarantees in life but if I’m willing to take the steps many of you have taken on my road to a better life! I definitely need to focus on the good in life!!

I’m still paying attention and will contribute more as my wife and I have surgery.

Best,

James

So sorry to hear about the postponement and also about your neighbor having Covid. My 13 year old granddaughter just got her first shot last week and was so happy to get it. Her anxiety level is real about going out and about and catching Covid that I could see the huge relief this gave her.

Anyway, I hope that Covid cases in your area goes down and that more people get vaccinated. That is what is going to get this thing under control.

Postponed surgery is no fun. We are here for you. My journey before surgery was about two years but I was the one dragging my feet. Everyone I knew from work that had lap and or sleeve, regained their weight With work around. Then I learned of RNY surgery. I looked into it. I had my RNY surgery on February 15 this year. Things are going well. Your day will come. This time gives you opportunity to learn and do more. are you logging and measuring what you eat. It is very helpful. Be safe have fun.

I was also postponed due to covid last year. I had my first appt. with the doctor in August of 19 and did not have my surgery until June 2020, when it was all said and done. So I really, really understand the complete frustration. My only suggestion is stay the course and be careful. I had some weight regain (although I was furloughed in lockdown as well, so it was like my entire life was up in the air!) It's too easy to backslide and you've both worked too hard to get here. Your time will come!!
