Surgery postponed until???

No big surprise my surgery center called and said elective surgeries are postponed until further notice.

I'm frustrated but we all know the score. People need to get vaccinated!

My insurance plan starts over again October 1 which means I will start a new max out of pocket. Another 13K out of my pocket due to Covid.
September 23rd will be 1 year since I started my Journey. Enough said

That sucks, James. I hope things change quickly, although, I'm afraid that too many people are going to remain unvaccinated.

It's not going to be shocking to see a new variant because of this extended wave that ends up being worse than Delta for everyone.

I hope I'm wrong and you get in there as soon as possible!

Cautiously optimistic but it could very well could be quite sometime . Mentally I was ready for this and am very disappointed.

My wife had the RNY surgery 6-15 of this year. She has done quite well so far about 25 lbs in 6 week’s down a total of about 45 lbs this year. She has experienced some of the same issues talked about here. Water intake is better but has to work at it. A few times of eating to quickly, made her uncomfortable she now eats quite slow. She also has found out what foods cause her discomfort. A learning experience for both of us. She is feeling quite good about her new look already. Especially for our sons wedding most everyone is commenting on her weight loss.

Thanks for the support it is struggle not to emotionally eat over this. Most of us here know that insanity to some degree.

Aw, James that really sucks. I'm so sorry that this happened. It is ridiculous that we have a way to protect against this virus and yet people refuse to take any responsibility for themselves or their impact on society as a whole. I am having a hard time holding out hope that we can get this under control before the hospitals are overrun again or an even deadlier or vax-immune variant hits us. I can't believe you've been waiting a year. You'll be lucky if you're not underweight by the time they get to you! Hang in there!!

I'm so sorry. You were so close. Try to stay positive. You've done so well so far. Your time will come. I really hate this whole covid situation, every single thing about it. I too wish more people would get vaccinated, step up and do it for the greater good.

Again, I'm so very sorry.

I'm sorry about the delay. It must be frustrating to have the costs rise because of the delay. I am also concerned that I might have to come up with my deductible and out-of-pocket again. I'm waiting for the staples to arrive. I had to tell my boss that the surgery is moved because a surgical item isn't available. I did not want to say the staples weren't here yet. It's at least another month but I think it will be longer.

Take care.

I'm am the one waiting weeks or months for the staples to arrive. I have eaten emotionally over it. I need to not do that again. It's great that it's only a struggle for you and not something that has already happened, like me. I hope it goes better for you.

Bless you. I had a few speed bumps myself on the way to surgery. It can be frustrating not being able to follow through due to no fault of your own. I was told my own elective surgery (two weeks ago) could be postponed any day, so every day I jumped when the phone rang. Give yourself a pat on the back that you have not given up and are still determined to go forward no matter what they put in your path.
