I m completed my 3rd day and it's going pretty well. It's much harder than I thought but not the hunger it's the concern Im having wondering how I will ever get all these liquids and proteins in when I get my new pouch. Im worried. I have a hard time with my normal stomach. Surgey In 7 days and I'm trying to figure out how this will be possible. Help please'. Luv you all.

GCooper-It will take a week or so to start getting all of your fluids in after surgery. Just keep sipping slowly all day long and don't go anywhere without a beverage. The protein will probably take you a while to be able to get it all in. Ounce for ounce the protein shakes, sugar free popsicles and Jello count towards your daily fluid goals. The key is to sip, sip, sip. You'll manage just fine!!!

My Doctor didn't put me on any pre-diet, per say. She did tell me to try and loose as much weight as possible up to my surgery date. But I don't have a lot to loose in the first place only 70-80 lbs. I had the gastric bypass to rid myself of my high blood pressure and diabetes. I started the all liquid diet in the hospital the same evening I had my surgery. At first it was difficult (nurses and my husband/coach) kept me drinking. When I returned home, my husband continued to keep me on track...after about 3 days...I found that I was finishing my liquids with time left over! It does get easier...I had full liquids for 2 weeks, it went by fast...you need determination and focus on why you had the surgery in the first place. You can and will succeed! Good Luck!

Hi GC, you are right, it can be difficult at first to get all the liquds and protien in for the first few weeks, but like Pat said jello, pop cicles and shakes all count toward fluid intake and the protien shakes are a two for, you get the protien and the fluid:D Hang in there you will do fine. Tom
