Valentine's dinner

I am pre-op and have been really watching what I eat and counting calories per my dietitians guidelines. I am waiting for my pre-surpgical appointment to get my surgery date. I took the opportunity to make this my "farewell meal". That way I have time to get back on track before my appointment and final weigh in. So, we celebrated Saturday and went Capital Grille Steak house. I had a nice filet with a wedge salad and brussel sprouts (sauteed with some stuff and bacon) and 2 glasses of wine. Although the meal itself wasn't horrible it was a lot of calories and way more food than my meals have been in a months. It was so good but it did a number on my stomach. No regrets though, it was a great "last" meal. haha

Wow, I am in the same boat as you. My final appointment and weigh in is on 2/24. We decided to have our Valentine’s Day meal on Sunday: mild hot wings dipped in Ranch dressing, baked french fries and corn. It’s my favorite comfort food, but I paid for it this morning with terrible GERD. Now I am feeling lousy and guilty. I had actually lost 6 pounds on my Saturday morning weigh in and was feeling so happy. Now I feel like shit and I’m regretting the stupid splurge meal. I am trying really hard to “reset my brain” and get back on track.

Steak, twice baked potatoes, shredded roasted brussel sprouts, corn, and chocolate covered strawberries. I won’t be having ALL of that, just the steak, a little potato, and brussel sprouts. My husband got me these awesome tye dye roses for Valentines. Different but so fun!

My husband and I celebrated Saturday with a dinner out to an Asian fusion-type restaurant. We had pork potstickers, wonton soup, Mongolian beef, honey chicken, and stir fried tofu w/vegetables. Oh, and we drank tea.

I could only eat three of the potstickers and some of the soup. A few hours later at home, though, I ate some of the rest. It was delicious!
