Pre surgery pre liquid diet eating a lot

My surgery is on 3/22/17 and I just had to adjust my goal weight up. I did this because it's 80% of what I will probably lose after surgery (hopefully) and in line with what my doctor believes is a good goal. Anything less that it will be my private goal. There are so many inspiring success...

    New, Have Pre-op Questions

Hi Lynn, I like your tips, I'll give it try. On 3/7/17 I will start my liquid, 2 week diet. My doctor allows his patients to do several things: only protein shakes or some lean meat and veggies, or a combo of the 2. I'm going to try to mix it up. I'm glad I don't have to do the clear liquids...

    New, Have Pre-op Questions

I'll be here, don't worry and I would love to hear whatever you have to say. I'm thinking of going back to therapy, I need help with this eating addiction of mine. One piece of advice - stay off of youtube! I made the mistake of watching videos from former wls folks and some of them are too...

How quickly we forget the basics! I am new here.

I suffer from depression and take meds for it. Life always feels like a struggle, but setting goals and working towards them keeps me going. I know it sounds flighty to say that but to have a vision/goal gives one a sense of purpose which then blossoms into hope. And hope is our lifeline...

    New, Have Pre-op Questions

Hi Cin59, wow you are just within days. I wish I could give you a big hug of reassurance, but then you would have to give me one back. LOL. You can do this, in 7 days you'll be on the other side of it. That's what I say when I try to self-soothe, I say, "I'll be on the other side looking...

    Non-lucky Right Now

Hi Christine, thanks for responding. Yes, the money is another pain, too. LOL. I just want to be on the other side of the extraction and whatever else he'll do. I have to get it done before my surgery, so says my surgeon. What-a-bite!

    Non-lucky Right Now

Last week, I broke a tooth and found out it can't be saved. Will have the extraction and start of implant this Tuesday (2/28/17). Why me??!!! Just need my pity party for a moment. My nerves are on edge for the upcoming surgery. I have problems with anesthesia (coming out of it, somewhat...

Hi Lucy, Why didn't you state where you are located (city, state) and provide an email (use yahoo or gmail for security sake) so that people can respond. Hope this helps. Laura

    Starting puree early

Hi Keith, I can't talk from experience since I haven't had my surgery yet, but I've met 1 person and read people's blogs who have started the puree early. All seemed fine except for one person that tried pureed beef, which didn't work. I guess you'll just have to try and see. Good luck.

    New, Have Pre-op Questions

Just opened the whole thread and see that you've had surgery. So sorry, should have done that to start. Again, responding to incoming email and can't see the whole thread. I'm an emotional binge eater. I'm reading self-help books and I'm considering therapy. My nutritionist said that...

    New, Have Pre-op Questions

Debby, I have to start my pre-op diet on 3/7/17 but I'm starting a version of it now. After meeting with the doctor and nutritionist yesterday, I feel motivated. Did you already have your surgery? I think I just responded to an older entry of yours by mistake, when you were pre-surgery and...

    New to group

Hi Debby, my surgery is 3/22/17 (pending insurance approval). I'm a type 2 (T2) diabetic, have high blood pressure, high chlor/trygl, premature degenerative bone disease (already had 3 disks removed in my neck), arthritis, and of course, have morbid obesity. I'm hoping to see a big reduction...

Pre surgery pre liquid diet eating a lot

I feel so bad for you. I hope this all works out for you. At this time, I believe my insurance will pay for my surgery, but from various sources, it looks like surgery will cost approximately $11,000 to $15,000. I heard it is cheaper in Mexico and some medical colleges could offer it for free...

Goal weight = gifting yourself something?

Hi Keith, I think recognizing your achievements would be a great idea. I can't think of anything for myself right now, whoa - maybe jewelry! LOL. To each their own.
