Food not worth it?

Is anyone struggling with this? Food waste is one of my soapbox issues. I hate it. I’m only allowed 1/2 cup (4 tablespoons) of food per meal/snack. There are some things I like that seem not worth it to cook. Example - spaghetti squash. I roast a whole squash & eat it several times, but still so much left. I have some in freezer, but not sure what it will be like texturally when I thaw it. I have other foods in freezer in small quantities. Thinking this is probably what other people do. Do you have a freezer full of small servings like this? It is super nice to have things to just grab & thaw. - Shelly

Just thinking that some things are such big portion that I could never eat all of it with my allowed meal size. Makes me think I shouldn’t even cook them since I’d never eat it all. But I guess it is important to make things I like so I enjoy my meals.

Another subject…this has prob already been discussed, but I’m new here. I have same concern about eating out. I had meatball sandwich (just meat & cheese) recently, ate it 5 times, & still threw some out. My husband is great & said we can just share something, but he eats a lot & I would feel like I’m taking food away from him. Anyone else think about these things?

If I go out to a restaurant I’ve been ordering a cup of soup and salad. Usually end up bringing the salad home after a couple bites. If no dressing I can compost it for the garden!

My husband and I share and it’s great! He is a big eater as well and also overweight so I take what little I can have and he takes the rest. It also kinda forces him to order healthier since we have to share. He loves it
