Help with dad

My dad had lap band placed 10 years ago. He has had it tightenened tp max. He looks like a Amityville POW. He stoll chokes pn food always has. He's 83 now in poor healt. We need to have the lap band loosened do tp choking on his food. Can't fond anyone to do it. He jas dementia does not remember except had it done in New Jersey none of his doctors will do it. Any suggestions?

When you say none of his doctors will do it, I take it those are doctors that are not bariatric specialists? I would try any bariatric center that is near him and ask if they can do it or if they know who can.

Take hom to the ER. In most states its illegal to turn away an acute payment. They'll have to admit him for tests but they may try to turn him away or offload him because of his dementia. Put your foot down. ANY TROUBLE demand to see hospital ombudsman.

I've done this. They considered my brother terminal so they ignored him. I said "malpractice" and the next thing you know, he has FOUR teams of docs determined to fix him and get rid of ME.

A life's on the line. Get hard. Scream in the hallway if you have to. Befriend every nurse. Educate yourself on the outcomes and differential diagnoses.

Go all the way to the top and don't stop.
