My appointments were in person. With that said, I don't imagine it is any different if in person on via video chat. The conversation is still there, and likely the same.
My final appointment with the surgeon was mainly to provide information and to get any questions answers that had come up through the pre-approval process. Basically he just went over everything again, what surgery I was having, how long it "should" take, what to expect, where to go, when to be there, when to start the pre-op diet, etc.
