Hi and congrats on your surgery date. Your surgeon's team should be talking to you about all this, have they not been? I would be a little weary about that. Mine had me meet with her nutritionist twice before surgery and then also attend a seminar about this. Every person is different so I don't want to give you bad advice based on your health and needs.I will be having Gastric Bypass on 12/13/19.
1.) In these days leading up to surgery, would it be helpful to go ahead and begin a liquid diet?
2.) How will I know what vitamins I will need to take?

Ah, I understand. Surgeons are all different, my doctor did not have me on a liquid diet pre-surgery. Her requirement was that had to loose 10% of my start weight but she emphasized a high-protein, low carb diet. The day before surgery, I had to drink something from the pharmacy to cleanse my system and I could only have clear liquids that day. But up until then, no liquid diet.I have indeed been meeting with my team - dietician, exercise specialist, nurse practitioner, surgeon. I think that I'm nervous because I don't recall anyone talking to me about a "liquid fast" in the weeks before surgery, but I've seen threads here and elsewhere about that. Also, I've been working towards this for 2 years and so I know that I know more than what my brain is acknowledging..just nervous, I guess. Like I'm not going to know what I'm doing. Because I was working towards this for so long, it began to feel like it would never happen and then "all of the sudden", here we are!
