So many new fires west of the Rockies. I hope everyone here is safe. I'm thinking of you.

And sadly the smoke from fires 2500 miles away are affecting the air quality here in WV bc of the jet stream. We just had a poor air quality warning last week for 2 days, where people with respiratory issues needed to stay indoors, including my husband with COPD.

I just cannot imagine the impact these fires are having on the lives & health of countless millions out west. I pray these can be brought under control soon. Climate change is here & escalating more rapidly than many scientists predicted (saw that on CNN today).

Smoke hit NYC too. I didn't really notice it here (I'm about 80-90 miles from NYC but heard it on the news. I too can't imagine what it is like living out west right now with the fires and smoke. It's heartbreaking to see all the effects of climate change. The floods are awful too.
