Ok so I'm totaly scared hearing of people who are in so much pain after surgery. Is this typical? My surgery will be done Robotically and is suppose to be much better in the pain and healing stage. Has anyone else had it gastric bypass robotically? I know my doctor is one of only a few doctors in the US that does them.

hi no one has the same pain experience or views it the same. in nursing school i believe we were taught to not judge people in regards to complaint of pain. i have high tolerance except migrains....so i know this about me...just describe how you feel and get what you need.!!! lee0412

I had gastric sleeve done roboticly and did not experience the pain i hear some people talking about.. but of course everyone is different good luck to you!

Mine was done laproscopically (think thats what they called it) and there was not very much pain, I thing I was on pain meds for about 5 days total but I only felt a little dicompfort when I laughed or sneezed for the first 3 weeks or so and when I rolled around in bed for the first 2 weeks. Are you having the Ruex N Y? I think you will do fine. Tom
