The first couple days were the hardest for me, but after you make it past day 3, the hunger pangs went away for the most part, then it got to the monotony of your options. Try and mix it up, and when you get tired of it, remember, anything worth having is worth working for!!! Don’t give up what you want most for what you want in the moment! You got this!!!!

Day three so far so good the only issue im having right now is late evening just want to eat something more than liquid my surgeon is pretty strict about this liquid diet strictly broths, protien shakes (believe me I look forward to them and not hungry)I can have all the water I want I can have one sugar free popsicile and one sugar free jello daily , I also am allowed to have crystal light diet is 800-1000 daily. sometimes I just cant seem to get my mind off food

I am on day four but mine is a two week liquid diet and yesterday I was hangry today I'm better but it is hard sometimes watching people eat...I do go to bed early if I can't stop wanting food...I do need to find a good hobby to keep my hands and mind active...do you have a hobby?

I am really limited to what I can do still recovering from hip surgery which I had in janurary, I tried sleeping but that one doesn't work but I will to try anything at this point

no hobbies? any sugesstions?
Hi Rays - No real hobbies to suggest but a couple simple activities. When I need to keep my hands busy, I'll break out coloring books/crayons, a roll of bubble wrap (addicted to the stuff, hehe), or a deck of cards to shuffle. Simple, mindless activities but all work for me when I'm just watching a movie or something and my eating disorder is trying to convince me to have a snack.

I am on day four of a two week clear liquid diet before my surgery. I am scheduled for August 29 and it can not come fast enough. I am very emotional and moody. Is anyone else really cranky?
Lisia Day four today with preop liquid diet not so much moody cranky but am a lil emotional, congrats on your surgery date wish mine was that soon hopefully the time will fly by as do I hope mine does as well

Yes, coloring is a wonderful idea. I was so happy when the new kind of adult coloring books came out, and you could use colored pencils and make beautiful renderings of images, suitable for framing. And because it's a coloring book, anyone can do it!

One of my favorite one of my favorite crafts is to make paper beads.

the best glue to use when you the best glue to use when you rolled these up is wallpaper paste. But I just make my own out of flour cornstarch and water, and boil it until it is somewhat thickened. Then I put the entire piece of paper in the glue and Roll It on a skinny crochet hook or knitting needle. Sometimes I don't make triangles but just make rectangles which I put over a thicker bead and these I call pictorials. I do this so that I can take tiny little faces and eyes and stuff which makes very interesting jewelry.

It's actually it's actually a pretty time-consuming process. I usually can't make more than 50 beads an hour. But once I have a few thousand, I can string them on regular kite string or cotton twine and turn them into a beaded curtain. It's quite beautiful.

thank you dianeseattle I will have to try the paper bead thingy sounds interesting

Hello. I am 2 days post op and I can not keep anything down. Anyone else have this??
Did they give you any zofran (ondansteron)? You could try using that 15 min prior to drinking anything and see if that helps. If that doesn’t work or they didn’t prescribe that and you can’t keep fluids down, you should call your surgeon, bc you don’t want to get dehydrated.
