Cheyenne says it so well.
Strangely, on the day I walked in for my surgery, I was calm and ready. All the decision making was over. The new journey was about to begin.
This is a journey I will never regret.
It gave me my life back.
It will do the same for you.

No drinking from a straw! This causes all kinds of problems. Too much air in the mix makes you burp and gassy like crazy. Even without the straw to this day when I eat I get "gassy". Many of us have to burp it out as quietly as possible (yeah right). Other than that.
The first couple of weeks...
Lactose intolerant. I have to remember that too.
This operation has changed a few things for all of us.
My taste buds are not what they used to be.
Sometimes I think I am chewing on cardboard. The taste is so much less.
I am happy for your husband.
Isn't there a pill to help that if you do...
Hello everyone,
My wife and I over the Christmas holiday decided to "take off" and get out of New York and off we went on a last minute fantastic 10 day cruise to the Caribbean on the Norwegian Gem out of Manhattan, NY.
We simply had one of the best vacations of our lives.
We both left...
That is interesting.
I had been a back sleeper for some time. I finally got back to being able to sleep on my side.
I still snore on my back, but not on my side.
Well, as soon as you heal a bit you will be able to get back to side sleeping.
Great to hear you are home with no problems.
Taste does change for most of us.
I think I lost some tasting sensitivity for a lot of foods. This is not uncommon. It also serves as another tool/benefit to reduce food cravings.
Anyway, now is the time to follow the program exactly as your...

Well the good news this morning is I managed to get all the excess weight off in the last couple of days.
Back down into range albeit top of range 199.4.
I am trying to stay between 196 to 200. I call this my green range.
200 to 205 is my yellow...
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hannukah.
Well, the holiday has snuck up on me and too much celebration. I am up 5 pounds. Got to work on getting it back down.
I am very mindful of what I am doing. I am having all kinds of goodies and plenty of cocktails. Right now, I am doing my best to hold my...
Hi Cheyenne,
First of all Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hannukah.
Otherwise Happy Holiday. I hate just saying Happy Holiday. For me it is Merry Christmas. For my many close Jewish friends it is Happy Hannukah. For the rest of the world that doesn't believe or has way different beliefs, Happy...
I chose the gastric bypass. It has been the gold standard for years now. It had the benefit of immediately resolving/controlling my T2 diabetes. This was the main factor for me choosing gastric bypass vs the sleeve.
Having said that many people are now opting for the sleeve. From what I gather...
Hi,
Here are my successes. You can look forward to a similar set of successes:
Accomplishments as a result of my Bariatric Gastric Bypass (11/4/2013)
• Diabetes resolved – off all meds, avg reading 110
• BP normal again – I am still taking bystolic 5mg. Resting pulse is around 60 and BP near...
Welcome.
We have all been where you are right now; unsure, afraid you will gain it back, psychological issues with losing weight permanently, etc. etc.,
First you talk about many improvements. Let me list mine. You will see a common pattern that we all achieve when succeeding with this...
I can tell you what Cheyenne has written to you is just about what everyone experienced as they finally approached the decision to have weight loss surgery.
However, I am a bit reticent to simply pour my information out to a one liner that just joined our group.
Tell us more about yourself...
