    New with GEHA insurance

Hmmm...if he only relies on pamphlets, and has you handle the insurance questions, I think I would look for another surgeon. I read the two reviews. I think you need to look for another surgeon who specializes in bariatrics, is part of a formal program that takes you through the process...

    Hello!

Welcome, Stacy! My surgery was two weeks ago, so it is still fresh in my mind. The first week is the hardest (at least for me). Take your medication on a scheduled basis, do not wait for the pain to get bad to take them. If they are not helping, you need to notify your doctor's office. Fluids...

Blessings to you as you prepare for your surgery. It is normal to be nervous, just go with the flow and it will be over in no time. Let us know how you do with your surgery.

    Feb 13th!!

Welcome to both of you! This is a great place to come! I am so lucky that I didn't have to do a pre-op liquid diet, although I did sort of a modified one anyway. My surgery was a week ago, and I feel like my pre-op diet did help set the tone for my post-op eating changes.

    presurg jitters

I remember during my pre-op classes, they had people who had had the surgery come talk to us. One woman, who had lost 200 lbs in one year, said, "You will mourn food....". That was so profound, especially as a pre-op. I am eight days out now, and can only say, I sort of understand that (I think...

    I Too Am New

I'm doing pretty well. There was more pain than I imagined, and the pain in the RUQ is still there, but it is getting better. I have only taken one dose of pain medication today. My appetite is good...almost too good. I feel like I could eat anything, and I am only on pureed. I am so glad to be...

    Hello everyone!

Welcome! It is very exciting to know your goal is in reach. I also like the Unjury, but I like the chocolate splendor, and the chicken soup. I tried the unflavored in cream of wheat yesterday, and found it to be chalky...but I may have put too much in. Good Luck!

    Decisions, Decisions

Hi Laurie and Jeannie! I just had my RNY on Jan. 28th, so I can't speak to personal experience with the sleeve. I just wanted to say, "Welcome!"

I just got home from the hospital

Glad to hear you're both doing well. I'm sitting here, up at 1:00am because of the pain. Everything went so well, now this. The percocet are only holding about 3 hours now (I have only ever had an opiate twice in my life, and have never taken percocet before). It is mostly RUQ, and burns, pulls...

    New to group

Welcome! You must have positive thoughts. Yes, some of those things you mentioned could happen, but they are not the norm. Pre-surgery jitters are normal, and everyone has them (some more than others) :) Read through the forums, talk to some of the other people here. Get a feel for what others...

Congratulations to both of you on your upcoming surgery dates. Do either of you have to do a pre-op diet?

Hey how the heck is everyone today?

The sun is shining (even though it is only up to 13 degrees), and I am feeling fine too. My motto has been, "Think Spring", ever since we took the Christmas decorations down on December 26th. I cannot wait for Spring. My treadmill is in storage from our move, and it is just too cold and icy to...

I just got home from the hospital

Keep me posted on the plastic surgery progress, as I know I am going to need it. It's so nice to have those who go before you available for advice. I really did love my experience at OSU. I worked 22 years for another large hospital system in Columbus, and thought nobody would be better. I was...
