WELCOME to the Forum!!!

Well, it could be water weight. I had about 20 lb of water from being pumped up with fluids during the operation. When I got home and went back on my diuretic I lost the 20 lb and more.

What are you eating? At 6 wks out I was still very restricted on my menu. One egg for breakfast. A spoonful of applesauce and a tiny bit 1 ounce of white fish, salmon or tuna for lunch. Dinner was a spoonful of soft cooked vegetable such as carrot and 1 oz fish. I was allowed tender meat after 7 wks. A couple spoonfuls make a very full stomach at this point in time. Sip water, water water. As time progressed I would eat a tablesoon stewed tomatoes, a tablespoon green beans and a little skinless boneless chicken breast and that was my meal. Tiny amounts will fill you up because your tummy only holds about 2 oz. If you are eating this way now then it's probably excess fluid in your body. Press on your ankles and see if you leave an indentation from your finger. If so, see your primary care doctor or surgeon.

I would suggest you fill out your info on yourself ( weight, type of surgery etc) as most of us have. We are anonymous here but the info helps us help you better.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

There is a word that we must all acknowledge and put into our psych.

The word is "patience". We spent an entire lifetime slowly gaining weight with ups and downs and maybe several failed "diet" attempts.

We have now arrived at the doorstep of a successful life journey. It is going to take time to lose weight.

As Cheyenne suggested, please complete your profile so we can see where you are at and how much weight you have lost already.

A weight journey is going to have its ups and downs too. But over time, it will be mostly down now until we reach our maintenance weight.

I am maintaining now.

I have a weight chart that will show you just how it goes.
I will add the URL right here >>>> http://www.americanbariatrics.org/album.php?albumid=9791

But first I will finish the message and then come back and add the URL.

The main point is you will find there are times when the weight does not budge at all. Then it might even go up. But then it suddenly drops. Then it simply plateaus again.

The body works in strange ways. Don't force it. Don't worry.

If you are following your surgeon's and nutritionists dietary recommendations faithfully you will see the weight come off. It isn't steady down down down. As I said it will have ups and downs and flat spots.

good luck.

Ralph
