Been MIA

I have been MIA the last week well because it is hard as heck to get on my laptop with a 9 month old around. He is perfectly content playing but as soon as my laptop comes out he thinks he has a new toy! Anyhoo. I started my liquid diet last Wednesday and I have had a couple of oppses (Thanksgiving dinner smelled so damn good). I think I am finally in ketosis. My tummy has only growled once in the 6 days I have been on the 14 day pre-op diet. I was seriously cranky Saturday because I wanted beef fajitas from this one particular restaurant. Thankfully the craving hit at 8 and they closed at 9 so not long to obsess about it lol!! I wasn't hungry I just WANTED them and the craving was something I had to deal with. I think the crankiness came from a new change in life coming so a bunch of emotions behind that. I had a SF popsicle and that helped.

I have lost 15 pounds as of yesterday morning. I will take 3 pounds a day! I know its just water weight but I wont be eating solids again for at least another month (purees not included). Any water I was retaining its gone. My ankles are not swollen but I am having to pee every 3 seconds! It is a lot easier to do it at work then at home. The temptations are great at home.

9 more days and a wake up and I am there at the hospital being wheeled into the OR!

8 Days and a wake.... Wooooo Hoooo.

And yes it sounds as though your in ketoacidosis, the only real way to tell is to use a ketone stick..

Sounds like your liver is responding well which is great...

Good for you ck9779. Like Stinkerbelle said sound like you liver is responding very well to the liquid diet. Not long now before your wake up date for surgery. Keep up the good work.

Hey ck9779, sounds like you're going in the right direction. Keep us posted on your surgery this Wednesday. I'll be thinking about you and sending good vibes your way.
