Hello Everyone!
My name is Angel and I am 24 years old and a single mother to a wonderful 4 year old. I am currently in a 6 month way out before I have my surgery. I am very excited about this life change that is about to take place. I am happy that I have a waiting period because I want and need time to prepare myself in every aspects for this surgery. I am gald that I found a place to talk to people who have been through and are going to have the surgery. I look forward to making a connection with some folks and gaining life long friendships!

Take Care!

hi Jonesa07 Angie
hi WELCOME you'll love this site its been a lifesaver for me, I found it many months before my surgery. you'll find answers to every topic you can think of concerning your before and after surgery. read and ask as many ? as you can think of. I had mine done in sept,2012 and still have ? I thought I had asked every ? possible but still find out new things daily. Everybody's body adjust differently to foods, liquids and healing and the new lifestyle that is required . Once you start loosing the weight things really begin to change in your life. attitude and confidence comes back, yeah.......... still adjusting to my addiction to food and how I tend to want to lean toward it for comfort for pleasure.also trying to make myself slow down more when I eat because you may dearly with pain if you don't. but in all the decesion I made to have this surgery was a good one. for I have been able to stop blood pressure medicince, cholestrol medicince and down to one diabetic med that within 3 months should be off it too. Looking back hindsite I wish I would have drank more protein shakes before the surgery and ate smaller meals to prepare myself for the new lifestlye I was about to embark on. My surgeon made me loose 25 pounds before he would do the surgery.which was a good thing but they way I did it wasn't the healthiest so I now know that when we consueme protein the pounds really do come off, when we dont' get in the protein the pounds just hang around( on your waist). I wish you much luck and this room is full of people whom don't judge you they are here to help each other out and to share our ?, our triumphs and to be a friend. HOpe you come back and get to know all of us and share your journey too.
wishing you much success, and a Merry Christmas
Donna
