Long story short, during my preop testing my kidney function tests were high. I met with a kidney specialist and he did some tests and concluded that the anti inflammatory meds caused some kidney damage. I had bloodwork done about 6 weeks ago, as I have been off the meds since my surgery, and my kidney function was normal. I had to have additonal blood work this week for endroconologist and the kidney function tests were elevated again. I have never had diabetes or high blood pressure. I am starting to question the original reason my doctor gave for the kidney damage. Also my cholesterol was up by 20 points from last test done 6 weeks ago. I am dong everything right. I eat fish at least once daily. I have only had red meat twice. I eat eggs and usually only the whites once a week. The only fat I use sparingly sometimes is olive oil. I am thinking that I can't change my genetics with this. My mom had high cholesterol and only weighed 110 pounds. I am preparing for my doctor to put me on medication, which I am very resistant to. I am really sick of all the doctors I have to see all the time. I feel good with the exception of my back and knees, but I don't look so good on paper. Thanks for listening. Off to have an MRI on my back on Monday and see the endroconologist on Tues. to see if my para thryroid levels have come down with the mega does of vitamin D.
