I wish I had awesome advice for you but I had bypass, which negated any heartburn. I was on an acid blocker for a short time to combat potential stomach spasms after surgery, I hope that is not what your having. I would ask your surgeons office, that way they know your having issues and hopefully can give you something that will work to help. As for the protein, it really doesn't take long before you get tired of them! I have figured out through trial and error there really is something to both the taste and texture of the different types available. It is so individualized as well, based on where you and your taste buds are after the surgery. I tried most things on the market at least twice before trying the next. I've currently settled on 'Chocolate Peanut Butter' from Annex. I hate most things chocolate but this mixture is very light, with just a hint of peanut butter and is very thin. Keeps most of my nausea at bay and I can drink 2 16oz glasses a day and get 92 grams of protein. Also, when I got tired of protein drinks and broth, I added unflavored protein to thinner soups so that I could have a change in flavors. I hope you find something that works and that you get to feeling better soon!
