Hi Melissa,

I had the sleeve gastrectomy in May. When I was at the stage you are at, I got pretty sick of sweet drinks. It helped me to drink some V8 or tomato juice for a change if your dietician okays that. I've lost 49 lbs, so far (total of 81 since I lost 31 before surgery). I am so glad I had the surgery. You may lose a little slower with the sleeve, but it has worked for me. I would like to lose 50 more pounds. I follow the don't eat and drink at the same time rule. I wish you the best.

I drink the V8 Fusion with Unjury Unflavored protein powder. It is a little high on the sugar, but I am tired of the sweet protein shakes. The fruity shakes taste really good. I am really ready to be able to bend at the waist and clean my house. LOL. I am really happy with my decision and can't wait to report some weight loss for all of you.

So I have a few questions about healing and pain. I have noticed some crampy feelings at the incision where they pulled my stomach. It hurts when I sit upright. When I lay down it eases off. I am sure it is just muscles healing back together. I have awful dreams where I am drinking soda and stretching my stomach out. I just wonder if anyone else has had the same feelings after surgery.

Hi Melissa and welcome! I love your profile pic, I'm in NC and a beach lover too :). I also had that discomfort after surgery and for me it got a little better day by day. They did a lot of work in there, so there's bound to be some pain/discomfort while your body's healing. Just take it easy and walk when you feel like it and rest when you need to. Try not to over do it as soon as you feel better, your body may not be happy with you if you push it too far too soon. And I have to throw in that I also had dreams about binging and overeating for a few weeks after surgery. I would dream that I forgot I had the surgery and completely ruined all the work I had done. They seemed so real but now they have passed, it's so nice to not be a prisoner to food anymore. It's by far more rewarding for me than the actual weight loss. Hope you're feeling better soon. :)

It sounds like you are doing well. The stomach pain improves, walking helps. I use v8 too. It travels well. There are some other brands, Trader Joes that has less salt. Your taste buds will change over time also. Keep up the great work.
