Hello! I'm new as of today :)

I had the sleeve done at the Cleveland Clinic in July. Everything went well, no problems at all. There are no support groups in my area that are open to people who had surgery at other hospitals. I live 1 1/2 hours from Cleveland, so I haven't been to a support group. I think that's why I'm having trouble staying on track. I've lost 28 pounds, but i Have been playing around with gaining 3-4 pounds over the last month. I'm afraid my sleeve is all stretched out, and I feel like a failure. I need your support. Thanks.

Hi Aprilpjd
I know support is very important. Without support we do not know which road to take when we have questions. This forum is a good place to start but I would try to find someone in your area who also had the surgery. I do not know much about the sleeve I had the ruin-y (spelling) gastric bypass. I know you can go up and down in weight. Do not weigh yourself everyday. Once a week. If you think you have stretched out your pouch, go back to the way the doctor prescribed for you to eat. Follow your doctors plan exactly. Do not deviate. I am having a hard time with my prescribed diet. To me it is just too much. I am only allowed to have protein until I lose 75% of my weight. That is going to be like 10 months. I may go insane by then because I am more of a veggie lover than a meat lover. So I crave veggies. It is interesting though that I do not crave sweets or breads-my two loves.
What about putting a notice up at the Cleveland Clinic, with their permission of course, to see if you can start a support group. You never know.
Hope we all hear from you again and you get back on track. Remember YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON WITH A GREAT WORTH!

You are NOT a failure!! Make contact with one of the people that was involved in preparing you for the procedure, be it a doctor, nurse, dietician, therapist, etc. Let them know your frustrations. Talk to your family doctor, find out from him what your resources are! You have made the first step by coming here, but keep searching till you feel good about where you are at and going. Keep in touch! I will be thinking of you
