Thank you Paige. We have a feature here for chatting, though it's rarely used. You can also invite someone to chat privately, using the little envelope icon up in the bar to the right. You can search posts for topics you want to explore or personalities you relate to, then invite people to chat with you. I found this very helpful when I arrived here. The group had been inactive for years, but there was one other woman here looking for a partner in recovery, and she & I just fired it up and because we were committed to being here, the group just grew larger and larger. I've been here since 2007 and it saved my life.
You really need to find a support group locally, if you can, but in my experience, that was a big hassle. I just kept coming back to this group and the people here have enriched my life. It's weird, because this was before social media, but I've never found anything better. As to type of procedure, the best one is the one that works for you. There are a lot of reasons why the sleeve is perfect for one but a disaster for another, but it's not necessary to compare them if you found the one that worked for you.
As to your various medical challenges, you really need a smart, supportive doctor who will consider your surgery as well as everything else. But it's a mistake to associate medical problems to your surgery. These things exist on their own, and are not necessarily related to your surgery. You can make yourself even sicker if you don't get to the root of the problem.
Congratulations on your successes and thank you so much for your support in this group. I hope you can separate your various problems and seek the best treatments for your unique biology.
